Dr. Teenier graduated from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry and Lousiana State University School of medicine. He received his graduate certificate in the speciality of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from the University of Texas Southwestern medical Center/Parkland Hospital in Dallas, Texas. He furthered his training with a Head and Neck Surgical Fellowship in Portland, Oregon. Following his training he joined the faculty at Louisiana State University in New Orleans. Here he was named the director of residency education, providing clinical guidance and support to 15 residents.
Dr. Teenier has published multiple professional articles and book chapters and has lectured internationally. He actively participates and lectures in the yearliy meeting of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.
In 2000, Dr. Teenier moved to Corpus Christi with his wife, Pamela, to establish a private practice to meet the Oral Surgery needs of the Bay Area and surrounding counties. He obtained admitting and surgical privileges at Christus Spohn and Doctors Regional Hospitals.
Dr. Teenier is certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and his memberships include those in the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, American Dental Associations, Texas Dental Association, American Medical Association and the Texas medical Association. He has also been an examiner for the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.
